Looking forward to a relaxing Sunday.

Hi, everyone! Karen here. There won’t be a lot going on with The Iggy Dialogues today — Iggy’s dozing quietly, and I plan to spend the day on the couch with a book.

The funny thing is the lock screen on my Kindle is advertising the book I was planning to read today — Raising Steam by Terry Pratchett. I love the Discworld novels. I think my favorite —

“HEY KAREN!!!”

AAAGGHHH! Okay, that was terrifying. What, Iggy?

“I’ve been thinking about how to leverage the blog!”

What are you talking about?

“You know, monetize, synergize and… um… stuff.”

Okay.

“We can sell Iggy’s Wonder Treats!

Treats?

“Yeah! And we’ll make a fortune, because our treats will have the best flavor in the whole universe!”

And what flavor would that be?

“Motorcycle boot!”

Iggy?

“Yeah?”

Go lay down.

    1. Yeah, he goes a little while without chewing something he shouldn’t, we think he’s learned to only chew his toys, we relax and start leaving stuff around, and he chews it. Rinse and repeat. 🙂

      1. It’s bad that it’s funny for the rest of us, can’t be too amusing for you sometimes lol
I’m glad you reminded me about Terry Pratchett, cos I also want to read the Discworld series.

      2. You must. I think you’d enjoy it. His earlier books featuring Rincewind are mostly goofy slapstick, but when he starts getting more into the Witches novels they start getting deeper. Still hilarious, but deeper.

  1. Cosigning on the Discworld being well worth a reader’s time. The Rincewind books aren’t my favorite, but there may be a certain world-building value in reading the series in order. If you just wanna plunge in, though, I’d recommend starting with the Tiffany Aching novels. They’re supposed to be YA but I think Prachett really hits his high point with them.

    1. Oh, yeah — I love the Tiffany Aching series. In fact, one if the things I love about his writing is his three-dimensional female characters. The Tiffany Aching books made me almost wish I had kids, so they could read them too.

  2. I say relax and enjoy, I love getting comfy with a good book. I’m trying to keep up with my good reads challenge, and I’m reading John Dies at the End. Enjoy. – Wye
